Weekend research talk: 30 years of modularity, by Frank Calegari

I'm working on writing up Chapter 3 on the Generalized Riemann Hypothesis, but in the meantime, for this weekend, I want to recommend a talk that complements the RH Saga E2 and the associated Chapter 2, and is delivered in much of the same spirit. It is a somewhat unusual video featuring the eminent number theorist Frank Calegari, who in addition to his many research talks and papers also has a great blog called Persiflage.

Here is the video, in which Calegari goes through in detail the idea of an L-function and the meaning of modularity (which is roughly a synonym for Langlands reciprocity).
