Weekend research talk: Julia Stadlmann on bounded gaps
I found this really nice talk by Julia Stadlmann, on her recent improvements on bounded gaps between primes, more precisely the result that there is an infinite number of prime pairs with distance at most 240. Almost immediately after her preprint was posted, several AI companies posted even better bounds, in the end pushing the record down to 186.
All these papers are difficult to read, with some rather forbidding nested sums/products/integrals, and it's nice to hear the key ideas and philosophy explained by Stadlmann herself!
The slides are also available here, if you want to quickly scan the main ideas.
